| An Invitation to the 1st REGIONAL SUPPLEMENTARY COURSE PROGRAMME on Agriculture, Sanitary and Phyto-Sanitary and Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) and, Customs Valuation, Rules of Origin, and Export/Import Schemes [/center] The Philippine Learning Centre for Trade and Investment Policy (PLACE), a British-funded project, is the first private sector-led learning institution in Southeast Asia, under the Institutionalization of Multi-Stakeholders (I-MUST PLUS) Project of the Universal Access to Competitiveness & Trade (UACT), the think-tank of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce & Industry, will hold its 1st Regional Supplementary Course on November 19-20, 2009 at the East Asia Royale Hotel at 8:00am – 5:00pm, with the following curriculum; 1.) Agriculture
· Sanitary and Phyto Sanitary (SPS)
· Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT)
2.) Tariff Nomenclature
· Export & Import Scheme
· Rules of Origin (ROO) The course will include key issues on agricultural trade – why it is controversial both in the multilateral and regional/bilateral trade arena. It also covers measures commonly applied on agricultural products, i.e. SPS and TBT, as well as environmental agreements sanctioned by the WHO. Tariff Nomenclature and Export/Import Scheme will also be discussed by experts from the Asian Institute of Management, Makati City . There will be a registration fee of P 3,000.00 to defray the cost of participation for the two-day forum. All registration forms must be submitted to the PCCI-Mindanao Secretariat by 4:00 pm of Monday, November 16, 2009.
